Main principles for Dutch Mill Reverse Osmosis
Units
Osmosis is the diffusion of two miscible solutions through a
semi permeable membrane in such a manner as to equalize their
concentration, by allowing a lesser concentration potable water to
naturally diffuse through a semi permeable membrane into a higher
concentration sea or brackish water. Therefore, seawater or brackish
water cannot naturally diffuse through a semi permeable membrane to
provide potable water.
To solve this problem, Drema Waterbehandeling B.V. has introduced
Reverse Osmosis Units, which overcomes this natural phenomenon.
By forcing sea or brackish water (under high pressure) through a semi
permeable membrane, potable water can be produced.
Reverse Osmosis Units are marketed under the Dutch Mill trade
name. Dutch Mill Reverse Osmosis Units are particularly designed for
long life and low maintenance costs and are manufactured from the
highest quality components available
The Reverse Osmosis Units are designed for the shipbuilding
industry and they are especially suitable in larger yachts, oil
platforms, cargo boats, cruise ships, tankers, cattle ships and fishing
vessels. Using the latest technology, Drema Waterbehandeling B.V. have
designed the units in such a way as to reduce the need for the addition
of chemicals, always providing for the quality of the feed water.
The Installation contains:
- Stainless steel frame and construction, to eliminate the
problems caused by corrosion
- Sand filter
- Pre-filter
- Unique computerised steering design
- Automatic fresh water flush after each stop and per 24
hours standby intervals
- One push button starts up the Reverse Osmosis Unit
- LED indicators showing either high rate or low rate system
pressure indicating impure water production
- Digital freshwater quality display
- Volts free alarm contacts
- Pumps are made of bronze or stainless steel
- Local high pressure piping in stainless steel 316 or better
Advantages of Dutch Mill Reverse Osmosis
Units
- No heating energy required
- Single push button starts computerised system
- Simple to operate
- High reliability of the components
- Simple maintenance
Accessories Dutch Mill Reverse Osmosis Units
- Fully automatic as against semi-automatic
- Energy recovery
